Ford Foundation Headquarters Reopening Materials

ROLE
Creative Direction, Publication Design

CHALLENGE
The Ford Foundation is the second largest non-profit foundation in the world, whose mission is to challenge inequality and advance human dignity across the globe. The foundation’s historic landmark headquarters recently underwent a total renovation to emphasize sustainability and exceed accessibility standards. The most notable features of the renovation were the addition of a lush atrium garden open to the public and a new gallery focused on artists whose work engages with issues of justice, dignity, and fairness. With this renovation came the challenge of communicating the new features of the building to visitors upon reopening.

SOLUTION
This brochure suite was developed to introduce and guide visitors through the renewed space. We utilized a different brand color for each brochure cover to distinguish between categories of information at a glance (mission, foundation history, about the building, et cetera). We also created a catalogue of the foundation’s art collection which was now on display throughout the building and in the new gallery. This brochure suite allowed for a smooth transition into the renewed space, providing visitors with the information necessary to navigate and continue the building’s legacy as an inclusive community-minded landmark.
